slick, cruising nymph, skirt thigh high at sixty per.
mute, unmute
then mute again …
it still beats the same
there’s a humming stuck in my throat
from a late night drink, smoke, and guitar strings
time stood still as we danced to music we can’t hear
I can remember the days of spinning dials
Fast summers and lazy clock hands
I struggle to remember his face
something inside me
trembled in time with the shimmering leaves
and danced
