Use your imagination. Poetry, Haiku, Senryū, Free Verse, Prose, and Flash are all welcome. (Please do not graphically use excessive profanity or overtly disturbing mental images. Let’s use common sense.)

You’re like a bright daffodil
stretching toward the spring sun
with promises of warmth and light.
shaped bowl of stone – hands hold the little soft water
above the candle on the floor on the rug ringed
by seated female – the light in the prayer
Iridescent moonbeams
Splatter paths of light
It’s a salty silver kind of night
first cry . . .
in the confines of this ribcage,
spring happens
@firdausp
Beautiful!! I love this!
Oh Firdaus, spring happening within someone’s ribcage – that’s glorious!
on the branch of a brand-new world
yellow blossom pushes up through bark
opens – eager to take in full warmth of sun
@folkheartpress
Lovely imagery!
What an idea – new worlds growing branches!
shaped bowl – hands hold the little soft water
above the candle on the floor on the rug ringed
by seated female – the light in the prayer
So Why Should You?
Does the flower ask permission,
or beg forgiveness, for opening
their slow eyes and stretching in the sun?
@pretentious_mag
Excellent, Sam. I like the sense of the flower just chilling on a sunny day.
I love this!!!!
Indeed! Lovely contemplative write.
She radiated such gentle warmth –
but deep within,
a flame raged.

Ewan, this is so good! It perfectly captures the feeling of this image!
I love the contrast. Goes well with the prompt!
A parcel of hope on a barren heart
Blooms like the morning
Billows yellow softness into a cold sky
@floweringink
Wonderful, Susan. Hope is such an irresistible quality.
Love the phrase, “parcel of hope” so much!
I love that first line!
