We nominate for awards, including Best of The Net. All submissions are considered for publication online and in our print mag.

Alternatively, we also have a New Submission Form for 100 Word Stories. With this in mind, submit only one story per month via the form. However, we encourage you to participate weekly on our blog in addition to one monthly submission.

On the first Wednesday of each month, we publish 2 selected 100 Word Stories (1 from submissions and 1 entry from the 100 Word Wednesday weekly prompts on the blog.)

Read other entries and comment on others. Lastly, this is a positive forum for feedback!

    The Looney Daddy!
My baby had to fulfil my dream of being the first swimmer from my tiny country to win an Olympic medal. I’d lost the podium finish by a whisker!
When I took him to the river, he was scared like hell!
Livid, I thought of the life jacket then. My dream had to be fulfilled, after all, at any cost.
My instructions to him were clear before dropping him in with the ring around him.
He made a sight – splashing, gurgling, shrieking! I looked away.
Half hour later, when I pulled at the lifesaver, it came back without him!

There’s a sea of possibilities out there. That’s what my mother told me. Not that she was wrong. I just got pregnant too early so my sea turned into puddle and even though I could stand up and the water only lapped at my ankles I still found myself gasping for air. I spent years that way, in desperate need of a life buoy and only ever getting the rope stuck around my neck. But then I started doing something no one expected me to do. I began to say no, and that’s when I learned how to save myself.
